Juan Sequeda is the Principal Scientist at data.world, having founded Capsenta, a company acquired by data.world, based on his PhD research at The University of Texas at Austin. His expertise is creating knowledge from complex data, particularly designing Knowledge Graphs for enterprise data management. He has received numerous awards for his research, including the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship, and recognition at conferences like ISWC. Juan is actively involved in academia and industry, serving on editorial and advisory boards, organizing conferences, and contributing to standards development. He balances his scientific interests with business strategy and customer engagement to bridge the gap between research and industry needs. He recently released his Benchmark to Understand the Role of Knowledge Graphs on Large Language Model's Accuracy for Question Answering on Enterprise SQL Databases.

Dave is the founder of AtScale and is the Chief Technology Officer. Prior to AtScale, he ran engineering and data at Klout and Yahoo! where he built the world’s largest multi-dimensional cube.

And you guys have always been, on the forefront of saying, look, we need to invest in semantics. We need to treat this as a first-class citizen. And like, let’s be honest, not many people realize that that’s what they should be doing. And you know what? Part of the motivation here is just me getting tired and saying, look, we need to show the evidence that we need to invest in this stuff. I’m gonna put my money where my mouth is, I’m gonna give you the data to do that.

It’s really a consumer-oriented technology right now. Chat GBT—we know it’s the first killer app for Gen AI. And like you, I use it. It’s a real productivity booster. So I’m really curious to see how it transitions into the enterprise.
