We’ve been sharing the latest and greatest on how big data and analytics are constantly developing and shaping the tech world for about a month now. However, given the uncertain climate we’re all living through, the AtScale team thought it might be helpful and uplifting to shine a light on organizations helping those in need while still practicing social distancing. Take a look: 

• CDC Foundation is a nonprofit organization, helps serve ALL OF US, all of the many needs that arise during an emergency response that the federally funded CDC cannot cover.
  • Your dollars will:
    • help communities prevent, detect and respond to COVID-19
    • deploy emergency staffing with the skills required to meet the needs on the front lines at the state and local level
    • fund and deliver critical home essentials, such as food and medical needs to quarantined and isolated individuals
    • develop education and awareness campaigns to advance prevention and reduce stigma
    • build capacity and infrastructure for global response efforts and other immediate needs as they evolve
• With kids across the nation out of school for the foreseeable future, No Kid Hungry has estimated children in need will miss more than 101 million meals this week alone and is actively working to make sure kids get the food they need, during school closures and all year long. In the face of this crisis, the organizations long-time partner Citi is also helping No Kid Hungry to make this happens. The two announced today that donations made – starting 3/19/2020 at 9:00 am EST – will be matched by Citi, up to $2 million. Donate now and with your networks.
• The Boston Foundation has established a COVID-19 Response Fund to rapidly deploy flexible resources to organizations in Greater Boston that are working with communities that are disproportionately affected by the coronavirus outbreak. The fund will award one-time operating grants on a rolling basis to non-profits whose operations in support of elders and other vulnerable populations have been stressed by the outbreak. 

The Center for Disaster Philanthropy (CDP) has launched a COVID-19 Response Fund, which will focus on supporting nonprofit organizations working in areas identified as having high numbers of affected individuals and those who are working with the most vulnerable populations in these areas to help build their capacity for response. These will include social service organizations focused on supporting hourly wage earners, workers in the gig economy, immigrant/New American populations, older adults, people with disabilities and other communities vulnerable to the physical health, mental health and economic impacts of the pandemic.
