EU Prepares to Push Businesses to Share Data- February 19, 2020

The Wall Street Journal reports that for companies the EU has accused of antitrust violations, such as Alphabet, Amazon and Facebook, regulators are considering forcing them to share data with smaller rivals. The EU plans to draft legislation later this year that will focus on addressing risks in AI applications that could harm privacy and consumer rights and the European Commission. The legislation will also focus on mitigating risks that AI poses to human life, such as crashes involving autonomous cars, and bias in decision-making algorithms.

Why 40% of privacy compliance tech will rely on AI by 2023 – February 25, 2020

Tech Republic elaborated on a recent Gartner report, which supports the notion that the rise of regulations like GDPR have launched personal data security into the spotlight, and artificial intelligence is here to help as the report found that in the next three years, more than 40% of privacy technology will rely on artificial intelligence (AI), up from 5% currently.
